摘要: This chapter revisits Bob Deacon’s ‘socialization of globalization’ and the ‘globalization social policy’ thesis (Deacon, 1995, 2007; Deacon Hulse, 1996; with Hulse Stubbs, 1997). His argument that locus contestation around politics globalization has shifted from national policymaking arenas to spheres cross-border governance a new global political agenda substantial content emerged proved influential in reframing contemporary policy research agendas paradigm. At time, his focus lay on international governmental organizations (IGOs) such as World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF), Trade Organization (WTO), United Nations (UN) its agencies (for example, Labor (ILO) Health (WHO)) programs UN Children’s (UNICEF)) key institutional loci formation. Principal forces ideological struggles define desirable model welfare, these actors are also directly engaged ‘transnational redistribution, supranational regulation provision’ (Deacon 1997: 22, my italics).
