摘要: Herniations through the esophageal hiatus of diaphragm often give rise to elusive symptoms that are common many other abdominal disorders; they sometimes also lead peptic esophagitis, severe hemorrhages, and strictures. The authors recommend medical management be tried first but operation performed if such fails relieve symptoms. Of 65 patients who underwent surgery for symptomatic hernia, 45 had complained pain was poorly localized commonly described as a sensation fulness, bloating, or pressure. Esophagoscopy carried out in 48 patients, findings were reported normal 22.
