摘要: This chapter reviews the evidence for glacial limits in England, Scotland, and Wales as understood at beginning of 2002. Evidence glaciation is primarily lithological with episodes being identified by till glaciofluvial sediments determined extent these deposits. Additionally, geomorphological has played an important role reconstructing ice masses younger glaciations. Moraine ridges ice-contact landforms, including patterns glacio-isostatically deformed displaced shorelines, have determination events. Biological a separating events indicating tendency toward climatic deterioration, or existence cold conditions that may be associated glaciation. In majority cases, this biological taken form pollen, but molluska plant macros also been used to differentiate different stages Quaternary insect faunas provide direct presence meltwater. Soil evidence, usually permafrost structures, indicate climate linked formation glacier elsewhere Wales, Scotland.
