摘要: Abstract Purpose Fluent speech production relies on the coordinated processing of multiple brain regions. This highlights role neural pathways that connect distinct regions in producing fluent speech. Here, we aim to investigate white matter persistent developmental stuttering (PDS), where fluency is disrupted. Methods We use diffusion weighted imaging and tractography compare properties between adults who do not stutter. along 18 major cerebral pathways. complement analysis with an overview methodology a roadmap implicated PDS according existing literature. Results report differences microstructural anterior callosum, right inferior longitudinal fasciculus cingulum people stutter compared controls. Conclusions Persistent consistently associated bilateral distributed networks. review evidence showing involves dorsal fronto-temporal fronto-parietal pathways, callosal several motor basal ganglia connections. entails important for long range this disorder. Using wide-lens analysis, demonstrate additional, hemispheric which go beyond replicable findings suggests affected circuits may extend known language
