摘要: This article is based on a qualitative study of modest scope that set out to gain sense the daily life homeless people in New Zealand regional city. We present our data form an ‘impressionistic tale’ (van Maanen 2011) convey day person living rough streets. Our findings confirm what already known; occupy crevices urban spaces. Their work driven by imperatives finding food, clothing and shelter as well alcohol other substances, keep- ing way public police. Despite hardship, some enjoy freedom being feral. propose re-housing requires addressing structural barriers compound harsh realities homelessness such anomalies government social agencies stigma accrued from criminal records. It also overcoming negative capital accumulated adverse lifecourses, improved support for health services care most marginalised society.
