摘要: Food selectivity is often seen in children with autism spectrum disorder and can lead to severe nutritional deficiencies. be specific food texture, colour, shape, presentation, type, brand or container. Often treated using escape extinction conjunction other procedures, which challenging implement for the therapist caregiver, aversive child, requires adequate supervision from a professional ensure fidelity of procedure. A preference assessment, parent interview journal determined child’s repertoire consisted four different foods total (pasta, fish crackers, dry cereal yogurt), child was selective by brand, temperature utensil requirement. 12-step graduated exposure hierarchy constructed, through hierarchy, training implemented generalization. After 9 months treatment, participant’s increased items more than 50 items. Additionally, refusal behaviour decreased rates zero during intervention parents report significant decreases mealtime at home. The importance an alternative strategy treating will discussed.
