摘要: Abstract The structures of six N , ′-polymethylene-bis(salicylaldiminato)copper(II) Schiff base complexes with alkyl backbones ranging from two to eight carbons have been determined by X-ray crystallography. are monomeric when the chain length is relatively short (two, three, and four CH 2 groups) but dimers becomes longer (five, six, groups). There a regular increase in distortion about copper center as approaches five carbons, followed decrease chains become longer. Previously noted trends electronic spectral, magnetic susceptibility, microwave dielectric loss data can be accounted for based on this structural information.
