摘要: The iXBlue MARINS Fiber Optic Gyroscope (FOG) Inertial Navigation System (INS) has been selected by the U.S. Navy for test and evaluation under Foreign Comparability Testing (FCT) Program. system can potentially be used as a third inertial navigator aboard Naval ships submarines. A comprehensive program was conducted SPAWAR Atlantic in its Land Based Test Site (LBTS) located at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek - Fort Story, Virginia Beach, VA Pennsylvania State University's Applied Research Laboratory (PSU ARL) Quiet (QTL) Development Center (NRDC) Warminster, PA. purpose of rigorous to assess functional performance capabilities specific mission purposes US Navy. consisted both controlled laboratory stationary dynamic testing characterize navigation various scenarios. position, velocity, attitude, attitude rate component (i.e. gyroscope, accelerometer) data analyzed will quantified. paper presents an introduction FCT boundaries guidelines projects. For this effort, on Scorsby Ship's Motion simulator obtain baseline position velocity error performance. Upon completion unit shipped PSU/ARL NRDC, PA further where precise heading, roll, pitch, calibration, sensor characteristic obtained utilizing high-precision Three (3)-axis motion table. Results level LBTS NRDC are presented. results analysis presented indicating potential benefits purposes.
