摘要: Rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, commonly referred to as distributed generation (DG) are deemed important contenders in future sustainable cities. Because deploying DG systems is associated with technical, financial, policy, and market implications that impact utilities, governments, businesses, quantifying the potential of could be deployed a certain jurisdiction ex ante helps inform decision-making process for all stakeholders. To end, upper limit rooftop PV Riyadh, capital Saudi Arabia, was assessed aid geographic information (GIS). By relying on urban land lot data different categories, i.e., zones, maximum allowable area built within using prevailing building codes regulations, suitable deployment Riyadh Metro quantified. The analysis restricted rooftops residential, mosque, shopping mall, health care buildings only. Following quantification area, capacity can city found 4.34 GW. This represents nearly 22% peak load satisfy approximately 9% energy requirement central region, region which resides.
