摘要: As a contribution to data for reconstructing the climatic changes on S-N transect from Antarctica Bolivia, glacial-geological study is presented that focuses Rio Mendoza valley of central Andes Argentina. This contains Cerro Aconcagua (6959 m), highest peak in Western Hemisphere. In valley, five Pleistocene drifts and one Holocene drift were distinguished by multiple relative-age criteria. U-series ages travertine layers fission-track glass three tephra permit preliminary chronology. Also, an estimate magnitude snowline depression was obtained, contributing paleoclimatic information. The moraine sequence Argentine flank compared with studied Caviedes (1972) along Chilean side Andes. addition, glacial correlated preliminarily Espizua (1998) Grande southwest Province.
