摘要: Electric two-wheelers have become a significant mode of transportation in China the past decade. Though marketed and publicized by some as zero-emission vehicles, little research has been done to quantify environmental impacts electric China. This paper quantifies production processes use phase compares them competing modes, including bicycles, buses, motorcycles cars. The emissions are quantified geographically with significantly higher coal rich regions, compared regions relying more on hydropower. results show that emit several times lower pollution per kilometer than cars, comparable emission rates buses bicycles. Lead is one pollutant which perform poorly, because their lead acid batteries.
