摘要: Hormonally regulated proteinaceous material secreted in hamster vaginal discharge is detected via the vomeronasal organ and elicits copulatory behavior males. The major soluble protein estrous has been isolated, characterized by molecular weight amino acid content, shown to have substantial aphrodisiac activity. activity of purified abolished heating or proteolysis, native retains after procedures for removing possible ligands such as volatile odorants, steroids, peptides. This evidence that a reproductive pheromone indicates mammalian can mediate sensory detection behaviorally relevant macromolecules.
