Effects of molybdenum substitution on the photocatalytic behavior of BiVO4

摘要: Transition metal doping has always suffered from the disadvantage of reduction photocatalytic activity because dopant ions can form a discrete level in forbidden band photocatalyst resulting low mobility electrons and holes thus lowered activity. However, this study an efficient visible-light sensitive photocatalyst, BiVO4, for water oxidation or organic compound degradation was found to be remarkably enhanced by molybdenum doping. The role enhancing BiVO4 investigated discussed based on changes surface acidity photocatalyst.
