摘要: This thesis presents an experimental study of non-thermal atmospheric pressure gas plasmas in presence liquid as efficient source transient and reactive species to initiate chemical reactions necessary for many important applications. Two types liquid-containing are considered: discharges formed between a needle electrode and electrode, plasma jets formed water vapour flow mixed helium or argon gas. modes (the pulsed the continuous mode) observed needle-to-liquid plasma. A comparative needle-to-liquid continuous mode with DC AC excitations reveals that glow discharges, and excited have highest energy efficiency. of helium/water jet shows “plasma bullets” formed even with water mixture, but become quenched when moist helium flow rate is above 300sccm (~1800ppm concentration). Moderate amount of (~250ppm concentration) beneficial active species production mainly due high electron density. Hydrogen peroxide production saline solution three different sources investigated due importance H2O2 several important applications. Long lifetime of H2O2 after treatment indicates exciting possibility of plasma pharmacy.
