摘要: Background: Intraoperative ultrasonography (IOUS) is considered the standard for identification of liver metastases. Use lipid-stabilized perfluorobutane microbubbles as an ultrasound contrast agent may improve this. The value contrast-enhanced IOUS (CE-IOUS) in enumerating colorectal metastases was studied here. Methods: CE-IOUS performed consecutive resections 2007–2010. All patients underwent preoperative computed tomography. Magnetic resonance imaging not carried out routinely. Conventional intraoperative examination including IOUS, and CE-IOUS with peripherally injected were performed. histopathological findings 6-month follow-up images used reference standard. Results: The study group 102 had a total 315 lesions identified on (2·4 per operation; 129 operations). 350 (2·7 operation). 370 (2·9 sensitivity, specificity accuracy 97·1, 59·1 93·2 cent respectively. altered surgical plan 19 operations (14·7 cent). Conclusion: CE-IOUS provided additional information to that obtained using contemporary conventional examinations. Copyright © 2012 British Journal Surgery Society Ltd. Published by John Wiley & Sons,
