摘要: Geographic Information Systems serve as important public health tools for analyzing population disease distribution and thus identifying individuals with chronic non-communicable diseases. The current study performed a spatial analysis of the 60 years older in city Botucatu, Sao Paulo State, Brazil, studying socio-demographic profile presence diabetes mellitus arterial hypertension. Data were analyzed from 468 elderly survey conducted 2001-2002. Elders highest socioeconomic status live census tracts social strata, proven statistically by techniques income schooling. No pattern was found hypertension diabetes, who located heterogeneously on map. suggests use geoprocessing digital mapping areas covered primary care units, aimed at better monitoring diseases their professionals.
