Cognitive behavioral therapy for schizophrenia: an empirical review.

摘要: Early case studies and noncontrolled trial focusing on the treatment of delusions hallucinations have laid foundation for more recent developments in comprehensive cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) interventions schizophrenia. Seven randomized, controlled testing efficacy CBT schizophrenia were identified by electronic search (MEDLINE PsychInfo) personal correspondence. After a review these studies, effect size (ES) estimates computed to determine statistical magnitude clinical change control conditions. has been shown produce large effects measures positive negative symptoms Patients receiving routine care adjunctive experienced additional benefits above beyond gains achieved with supportive therapy. These results reveal promise role although research is required test its efficacy, long-term durability, impact relapse rates quality life. Clinical refinements are needed also help those who show only minimal benefit intervention.
