摘要: Abstract The seminal vesicles and placenta of sheep contain an enzymic system, called aldose reductase, that catalyses the reduction by TPNH a great number aldoses or related substances, several aliphatic cyclic aldehydes. Notably glucose is reduced to sorbitol glucosone fructose. Rat liver contains analogous but this inactive towards certain pentoses, name “aldehyde reductase” suggested for it.
