摘要: There is emerging evidence that parents may experience cognitive, affective, and behavioural outcomes as a result of their involvement in child's sport participation (Dorsch et al., 2009). Grounded identity theory, we explored parents' personal social identities moral intentions towards other engaging antisocial behaviour. Competitive youth hockey (N = 437) were randomly assigned to one six conditions involving vignettes either described parent from team (i.e., ingroup parent) or opposing outgroup acting antisocially an athlete on athlete), own child. Parents reported response the behaviour form direct criticism, indirect suggestions report coach, league. Results revealed significant main effect for directly criticize parents, p .03, ?2p 0.012, indirectly < .001, 0.034. Further, strength moderated effect. with stronger more likely higher parent. no effects reporting (to coach league), did not moderate relationships We discuss theoretical practical implications findings better understand competitive sport.
