摘要: The paper begins with personal memories of Porteous from the author and another New College alumnus. It then goes on to explore notion meaning Old Testament texts role reader (particularly ‘ordinary reader’) in process understanding them. This takes readings perspectives feminism, liberation theology postcolonialism; reception history ‘afterlife’ texts; a discussion criteria by which an interpretation text may be considered ‘correct’ or ‘incorrect’, indeed if this is possible at all. A bibliography topic appended.
