摘要: Purpose We describe the case of a subject in post-traumatic Minimally Conscious State (MCS) who retrieved full interaction with environment after midazolam infusion. studied EEG correlates "awakening reaction" different domains frequency, time and cortical topography, along intrinsic connectivity within both task-positive linguistic network. Methods recorded before administration has been submitted to spectral power analysis, sLORETA analysis functional networks. Results A critical change spectrum profile was observed midazolam: a) between 1 12 Hz decreased, reaching its maximum difference respect pre-infusion at about 7 b) 30 increased, 15 Hz. At same time, induced significant changes, especially for these two frequency bands, Conclusions advance some hypotheses certain aspects recovery from MCS terms anatomo-functional correlations brain systems we make inferences role that kind 'catatonic' symptoms might play determining and/or maintaining this peculiar clinical state.
