摘要: Abstract Pain is the most irritating symptom that drives temporomandibular disorders (TMD) patients to seek treatment. Murakami et al., 1991 could not prove correlation between pain intensity and severity of synovitis. In order examine these ambiguous results we designed this study include a specified homogenous group suffering pure joint as diagnosed by Research diagnostic criteria (RDC/TMD). Then, using reliable characteristic index scoring system (CPI) estimated degree CPI Methods The charts sixty who had undergone TMJ arthroscopic intervention from 2009 2012 were retrospectively reviewed. Only 23 included, 19 females 4 males, patients' ages ranged 16 58 years they have suffered RDC. preoperative records RDC/TMD axis II compared correlated their synovitis grading score. was graded scored six items 1 6. based on both; (mild, moderate severe) well distribution within either focal or distributed. Statistical analysis performed Spearman coefficient 2-tailed test. Results matched together with video documentation included. While remaining excluded because of; missing data damaged DVD (15 cases) heterogonous source other systemic diseases (22 cases). A significant proved. Conclusion when exclusive are accurately carefully selected included in inclusion criteria.
