摘要: Several coagulation proteins have been implicated as possible risk factors for the development of atherosclerotic diseases, among which are factor VIII and von Willebrand factor. As part Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) Study, a prospective study designed to assess baseline measurements (vWF) were performed determine their relationship atherosclerosis. We herein report associations vWF with constitutional, lifestyle, biochemical factors. Factor strongly correlated each other (r = 0.73), and, therefore, had similar Mean levels both higher women than men, blacks whites, increased age. In univariate analysis, positively associated diabetes, body mass index, waist-to-hip ratio, serum insulin, plasma triglycerides. Both negatively alcohol intake, educational level, physical activity (with some exceptions), HDL-cholesterol. No correlations observed between or LDL-cholesterol lipoprotein(a). Although was smoking sexes, not status. Most these confirmed multivariate analysis. The strongest race diabetes. 15 18 percentage points diabetics 11 non-diabetics.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)
