Treatment of nail psoriasis with a modified regimen of steroid injections.

摘要: Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of a modified regimen intralesional steroid injection therapy for treatment nail psoriasis and assess side effects this regimen. Study Design: Quasi-experimental study. Place Duration Study: Dermatology Department Military Hospital, Rawalpindi, from February 1999 to January 2001. Patients Methods: having psoriatic dystrophy, reporting skin department Rawalpindi were registered. The features accounted pitting, onycholysis, subungual hyperkeratosis, ridging, thickening color change. affected digits scored 0 3 severity each these features. Similar number control was also selected. Injection triamcinolone acetonide (10 mg/ml) given into bed matrix following ring block anesthesia. re-scored after two months. A second 02 months if warranted by poor response. follow-up period ranged upto 06 Results: total 100 nails injected in 35 subjects. Pitting commonest presenting feature seen 71 (71%) improved 41 (57.7%). Onycholysis 37 (37%) 15 (40.5%). Subungual hyperkeratosis 57 (57%) all cases. Other like longitudinal yellow oil drop-like discoloration showed marked improvement. minimal included painless hematoma. Conclusion: found be effective safe deformities series.
