Sustainability transitions in developing countries: major insights and their implications for research and policy

摘要: Sustainability transitions literature is a rapidly growing and influential field of research. It argues for radical change systems providing human needs. Being triggered by the negative implications Western post-war model development, major transition frameworks such as multilevel perspective, strategic niche management or have been widely used to clarify motivate socio-technical transformations in mainly more economically developed world. Because their sustainability appeal, however, perspectives began be applied developing countries. This paper takes stock systematises theoretical insights from this application. Using systematic review method 115 publications released last decade, discusses novel methodological conceptual lessons around: experimentation upscaling; stability, power; regime uniformity; contextual forces; path-dependence; transnational linkages; normative orientation other aspects. Although identified confirm middle range character theory, they force some reflexivity raise new research questions both contexts. The also identifies few policy implication international organisations, donors, governments civil society organisations.
