摘要: Abstract Within the next two decades, large areas will be converted into urban environments, a process that include enormous transformations in economic activity, environmental health, and social justice. To address these complex problems, scholars use metaphor of “urban metabolism,” describing an understanding interdependencies dynamics cities ecosystems they rely on. Research on metabolism has achieved important methodological advancements, such as descriptive analytical frameworks, decision-making models, resource flow models. However, contributions have rarely engaged with transformational potential designing sustainability solutions for socio-ecological dynamics. This study aims at investigating current state discourse linking material flows to human well-being, ecological integrity, justice, well interventions. accomplish this, we conducted multivariate statistics 221 scientific publications, seeking clarify normative aspects considered design, context, products research.
