Two pathways through adversity: Predicting well-being and housing outcomes among homeless service users

摘要: People who experience homelessness face many challenges and disadvantages that negatively impact health well-being form barriers to achieving stable housing. Further, people are homeless often have limited social connections support. Building on previous research has shown the beneficial effect of group identification well-being, current study explores relationship between two identity processes - multiple memberships service positive housing outcomes. Measures were collected from 76 participants while they residing in a accommodation (T1) again 2-4 weeks after leaving (or 3 months T1 if had not left service). Mediation analyses revealed at independently predicted T2 indirectly, via both also indirectly outcomes The implications these findings twofold. First, belonging groups may provide pathway gaining support necessarily be achieve Second, fostering with services particularly important as source contributes well-being.
