摘要: To assess geographic distributions of elements in the Arctic we compared essential and non-essential livers polar bears (Ursus maritimus) collected from five regions within Canada 2002, Alaska between 1994 1999 northwest east coasts Greenland 1988 2000. As, Hg, Pb Se varied with age, Co Zn gender, which limited spatial comparisons across all populations to Cd, was highest bears. Collectively, relationships appeared similar past studies little change concentration over time for most elements; Hg were higher some Canadian 2002 as 1982 1984. Concentrations did not exceed toxicity thresholds, although Cd exceeded levels correlated formation hepatic lesions laboratory animals.
