摘要: 1. In anaesthetized sheep near term the O2 uptake of foetus from placenta was reduced to zero either by replacing with a mechanical pump, or ventilation after delivery in utero. When umbilical arterial and venous PO2 were made equal, they much less than maternal PO2. 2. This difference attributed consumption both within placental cotyledons extra-cotyledonary foetal membranes. 3. The membranes cord are supplied branches blood vessels constitute an oxygen-consuming by-pass on side placenta. 4. individual measured vivo. 5. combined whole vivo considerable fraction consumption. 6. consequences these observations discussed relation transfer across placenta.
