摘要: Abstract Background Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (LRYGB) is the current "gold standard" bariatric procedure in United States. sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) has recently become a commonly performed for many reasons, including patients' perception that LSG less complexity and invasiveness, lower risk. Our objective was to review literature compare leak rates, morbidity, mortality LRYGB versus LSG. Methods Publications from 2002 2012 with n greater than or equal 25 postoperative rate reported were included. Statistical analysis included chi-square according patient number. Results Twenty-eight (10,906 patients) 33 (4,816 articles evaluated. Leak rates after 1.9% ( = 206) 2.3% 110), respectively P .077). Mortality .4% (27/7,117) .2% (7/3,594) = .110). Timing surgery ranged 1 12 days 35 days Conclusions comparable. The appropriate should be tailored based on factors, comorbidities, surgeon comfort level, experience, institutional outcomes.
