摘要: A motor starter temperature protection control (10) is disclosed in which an ambient sensor (36) positioned on an inside cover of the starter (12) to sense across power poles (22, 24, 26) and heat sinks (42, 44, 46) provide a signal indicative ambient starter. A power pole (30, 32, 34) thermal communication with each produce signals of each 26). microprocessor (28) connected the temperature sensors 34, 36) receives the motor operation based inputs. The is programmed periodically monitor (72, 82) compare (74) these against fan-on limit, if exceed limit (76), the control turns internal fans (78) continues to temperatures either should a maximum limit(104, 106), placed shutdown mode (96), unless optional override has been set (92, 98). Upon (126), the tracks how long it takes for cool down (130), and if too (148, 150, 152), maintenance flag (154) indicate that preventive required.
