摘要: Abstract A new apparatus is described that offers small aquatic invertebrates a choice of two liquids under controlled conditions. Its performance has been critically tested using sea water and deionised water. The used to assess the temperature preferences activity Corophium volutator over 0° C 35° at 5° intervals. Activity was classified into categories: crossing centre partition or turning partition's boundary. Animals avoided low high temperatures. most preferred 15° 20° C. extreme temperatures peaked 25° From 30° C, turnings increased while crossings remained constant. In temperatures, were higher in but same. behavioural ecological significance these results discussed.
