摘要: Abstract Theophylline, a pharmacologic agent presently permitted during international sporting competition, has come under scrutiny because of the suggestion that it may be ergogenic. This study examined effects serum theophylline levels 10 to 20 mg/L and administration placebo on selected measures physical performance work capacity determine any ergogenic outcomes. Seven male three female elite athletes from variety team sports aged 18 30 years participated in study. The variables measured were height, mass, maximal oxygen consumption, muscular endurance, power, strength, FVC, FEV 1 , reaction time. When scores obtained after ingestion with double-blind, crossover technique compared, no significant difference was found for these variables. A two-way analysis variance before exercise revealed "F" ratios. indicated none trained demonstrated exercise-induced asthma there airway resistance while they influence or placebo. We conclude attributable therapy which should therefore remain an acceptable means management participating events.
