摘要: Recent developments and ideas concerning the secular evolution of cataclysmic binaries are briefly summarized. In particular following topics addressed: basic observational properties, stability against mass transfer, mechanisms for driving reaction secondary to loss, period gap model with its implications, minimum orbital period, white dwarf primary, spectrum dwarfs in binaries, precataclysmic finally systems containing an evolved secondary.
