摘要: The genus Daucus (Apiaceae) comprises species from around the world, covering a wide climatic range, and showing great morphological plasticity. Both cultivated wild forms are described within genus. aim of present study was to estimate genome size variability in collection diploid differing chromosome number (2n = 18, 20 or 22) originating various regions world. In total, 2C DNA content 19 accessions nine species, as well 22 26 carota L. measured by flow cytometry. varied over 3-fold, 0.920 pg D. subsp. maximus Spain) 3.019 littoralis 20, Israel). interspecific differences were pronounced, e.g. Greece) possessed 0.940 pg/2C DNA, broteri Cyprus) 2.218 montevidensis 22, South America) 1.295 pg/2C. group 22-chromosome high similarity nuclear among different one observed, contrast 20-chromosome suggesting possible taxonomical misclassifications latter group. non-cultivated subspecies (Spain) 1.154 halophilus (Portugal), which reflects 20% difference. turn, carrots we observed homogeneity studied accessions, ranged between 0.950 (‘Kuroda type II’, China; ‘Imperial Long Scarlet’, Japan; ‘Koral’, Poland) 0.977 (‘Cape Market’, Africa). mean value calculated for both amounted 0.973 pg.
