摘要: Dispersal can be an important determinant of local diversity and species composition, but evidence for effects the regional pool on zooplankton communities has been mixed. Theory experiments suggest that immigration will necessary maintenance community functioning during periods environmental change; conversely, fluctuating resource levels may increase likelihood invasion success. We conducted a factorial-design mesocosm experiment to test nutrient pulse weekly from other lakes composition pelagic community. Contrary expectations, there were no interactive enrichment any measure diversity, initial shift in response did not depend introduction new or genotypes more productive lakes. Although increased richness enclosures, success most colonising was poor. However, dispersal treatment appears have enabled stronger predator herbivore numbers nutrient-pulsed leading eventual decline abundance some herbivorous immigration. conclude invasibility influenced by productivity, limitation strongly constrain our applied disturbance. This indicates unexpected resistance change spite disturbance, suggests that, study system, changes resident are than introductions short-term change.
