摘要: The original definition of new primary production rests on the assumption that nitrogenous substrate taken up to fuel algal growth is coming into contact with phytoplankton for first time year. Therefore, should generation nitrate from ammonium by nitrification turn out be significant in surface waters then uptake can no longer simply ascribed production. A modeling study presented centered Bermuda Atlantic Time-series Station, oligotrophic subtropical North Atlantic. We quantify role providing through a full annual cycle time. results confirm previous limited observations suggesting major fraction regions (where will most influential), previously production, may actually involve “recycled” nitrate.
