摘要: The present study examines the effects of density ofLeitoscoloplos fragilis and fine sediment on benthic microalgal abundance production in laboratory microcosms, diffusive transport ammonia. Microcosms having different densities (Verrill, 1873) were determined collected from one two field stations (each containing a amount particles <125 μm) Cape Henlopen, Delaware, USA, August 1986. worms acclimated recirculating seawater system for months prior to experiments. Chlorophylla concentrations highest sediments with less (<125 μm). Benthic diatom production, total microbenthic metabolic activity, pore-water ammonia higher microcosms high worms.L. grew more worm densities. upward flux across sediment-water interface was particles. A greater these impedes surface nearsurface diatoms. coupling between population which can be altered by fine-particle could control distribution stability populations ofL. fragilis.
