摘要: Current generations of hard disk drives use a technique known as zoned constant angular velocity (ZCAV), taking advantage the geometry to increase total capacity by varying number sectors per track with distance from spindle. A side effect this is that transfer rate also varies sector address. We analytically estimated and measured on file system performance BSD Fast File System, showing drop roughly 25% in peak depending head position. show that, while ZCAV effects cannot be ignored, simple linear model adequately estimates few parameters normally available drive spec sheets.
