摘要: Experimental results on the entropy of mixing liquid transition metal based alloys FeSi, CoSi, and NiSi show that there is an exceptional negative mixing. In this work, we have shown effect due to filling d band as it alloyed with Si. We propose a simple model which successfully accounts for various features experimental results.
