摘要: Abstract Experimental study was conducted on the vortex shedding process induced by interaction between a solitary wave and submerged vertical plate. Particle image velocimetry (PIV) used for quantitative velocity measurement while particle tracing technique qualitative flow visualization. Vortices are generated at tip of each side The largest vortices plate eventually grow to size water depth. Although fluid motion under is only translatory, shed in both upstream downstream directions due as well with bottom. can be divided into four phases: formation separated shear layer, generation vortices, jet, impingement jet onto free surface. Similarity profiles were found layer jet.
