摘要: This paper demonstrates the predictive capabilities of a numerical model based on continuum mechanics for simulation run-out processes during landslides. It assesses particle-based method that takes advantage double Lagrangian-Eulerian discretization and known as material point (MPM). Attention is given to post-failure behaviour and, in particular, computation important quantities such distance, maximum velocity energy release. The MPM step forward computational solid has potential simulate large deformations those occurring A validation conducted simulations two case studies different scales, namely Tokai-Hokuriku expressway failure Japan Vajont landslide Italy. results show very good agreement with field other observations.
