摘要: Scarcity of rainfall does not solely prevent opportunities for agricultural production. Irrigation can be used as a supplementary source water supply. However, in many arid and semi-arid regions, the availability either surface or groundwater is limited. Dry farming an excellent means to cultivate regions low productivity like natural pastures. A small amount sufficient grow drought resistant crops. Rainfed agriculture depends among others on climatological conditions, selection crop type, soil characteristics time sowing. Analysis annual patterns crucial sowing strategies (Schouwenaars, 1990). If year by fluctuations are unpredictable, dry becomes risky event. The benefit turn into catastrophic yields due lack and/or irrigation water. degree aridity reaches status where conventional attainable, harvesting runoff may solution. Water already traditional manner utilize potential vegetation trees. Micro-catchment-water-harvesting especially suitable having watershed such terrace system which collects runoff. principle idea that during rain storms enough stored root zone face seasonal plant requirement. design areas adjacent infiltration basins should tuned with conservation day occurring evapotranspiration rates (Boers et al., 1986).
