摘要: Mobile consumer-electronics devices, especially phones, are powered from batteries which limited in size and therefore capacity. This implies that managing energy well is paramount such devices. Good management requires a good understanding of where how the used. To this end we present detailed analysis power consumption recent mobile phone, Openmoko Neo Freerunner. We measure not only overall system power, but exact breakdown by device's main hardware components. for micro-benchmarks as number realistic usage scenarios. These results validated measurements two other devices: HTC Dream Google Nexus One. We develop model Freerunner device analyse battery lifetime under patterns. discuss significance drawn various components, identify most promising areas to focus on further improvements management. also impact dynamic voltage frequency scaling application processor.
