摘要: To combat recent spectral overcrowding in unlicensed bands, the FCC has been investigating new ways to manage RF resources. The idea is let people use licensed frequencies, provided they can guarantee interference perceived by primary license holders will be minimal. With advances software and cognitive radio, practical of doing this are on horizon. In 2003, released a memorandum seeking comment temperature model (ITM) for controlling spectrum use. Formally defining analyzing techniques implementing goals paper. Two interpretations ITM developed each, we examine tradeoffs between power, bandwidth, capacity. From these relationships, algorithms computing transmission parameters developed. These seek maximize both capacity efficiency given environment. Additionally, describe choose center frequency that optimize future performance, subject constraints ITM. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
