摘要: Because it conflicts with deep-seated beliefs, can be difficult to accept that deep innovations and discoveries are more likely when the search is aimless. It’s natural skeptical. To provide a concrete example of how abandoning objectives practical, this chapter explains an alternative complete aimlessness still avoids objectives. The key idea follow scent novelty interestingness instead any explicit objective. test scientifically, we created unusual computer program called search. Novelty solves problems without directly trying do so, driven only find things different from what has found before. searching for objective deceiving, turns out better solve challenging deceptive than programs conventionally itself. Strangely, exotic process discovery succeeds discovers knowledge.
