摘要: The electroencephalogram (EEG) is a physiologic measure of cerebral function that has been used by some to assess coma and prognosticate survival global outcome after traumatic brain injury (TBI). Surface recordings the brain's electrical activity reveal distinct patterns indicate severity, depth unconsciousness, patient survival. data produced with traditional qualitative studies, however, does not allow resolution quantification wave frequency spectrum present in brain. As result, conventional EEG typically only for gross analyses practical use long-term monitoring or as sophisticated prognostic tool. One area investigation working address limitations development implementation Fourier Transform (FT) which resolves quantifies bands When FT analysis applied EEG, it provides concurrent continuous monitoring, resolution, all frequencies emitted. This review discusses history significance how FT-EEG, commonly referred Quantitative (QEEG), being clinical setting. specific applications QEEG methods regarding treatment patients TBI are discussed detail. advantages, disadvantages, future directions also discussed.
