摘要: AIMS The aim of the study was to investigate prognostic value fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) PET negativity and thyroglobulin (Tg) suppressibility in differentiated thyroid carcinoma patients with elevated Tg a negative radioiodine scan. MATERIALS AND METHODS population selected from cancer registered at large tertiary care center for management consisted metastatic on follow-up, 131I whole-body scan 18F-FDG PET/computed tomography (CT) study. Patients were subjected thyroid-stimulating hormone-stimulated assessment basis scan, serum level PET/CT evaluation disease burden. same follow-up under hormone suppression while thyroxine sodium. Comparison also made between findings demonstrating suppressible Tg. RESULTS A total 40 (25 male 15 female) included All had but stimulated more than 5 ng/dl (range: 5.1-> 250 ng/ml), indicating presence disease. demonstrated variable classified extent (%Tg > 90% 21 patients; %Tg 65-90% 12 65%) is observed significant fraction these patients, which appears be independent status metastasis or histopathology. Also who show no still better prognosis indicated by disease-free interval as our Whether there exists any relation their long-term outcome requires further examined future prospective studies.
