Empirical correlations for friction factor in drag-reducing turbulent pipe flows

摘要: Abstract Measurements for friction factor solutions of Separan AP-273 and AP-30 at various concentrations are presented. From these data the critical Weissenberg number is found to be order 7–13 (20,000≤ Re a ≤ 40, 000) 5–10 (10,000 20,000), respectively. For each polymer solution an empirical correlation in terms Reynolds number, developed. The proposed correlations predict experimental with good accuracy.
