摘要: Despite strong interest in P2P video-on-demand (VoD) services, existing studies are mostly based on simulation and focus areas such as overlay topology. Little is known about the effectiveness of VoD systems end user experience. In this paper we present a comprehensive study these issues using two-month logs from deployed experimental system over CERNET 1 . Our key findings are: (1) factor popularity channels moderate number concurrent users can derive satisfactory However, good network bandwidth at peers adequate server provisioning critical. (2) simple prefetching algorithm be effective to improve random seeks. Overall, believe that it feasible provide costeffective service with acceptable experience, there fundamental tradeoff between experience scalability.
